The Slow Route to Yavin.
Han and Leia’s conversation about his mercenary habits takes place while the Falcon is at sublight. Why? Vader just said they made to jump into lightspeed. (I know, I know, effects budget.)

Yavin Approach - Special Editon
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the updated Yavin approach shots that appear in the Special Edition.
Cardboard Ships
In the Yavin hangars, there are only two fully mocked-up ships: the X-wing and the Y-wing. The remaining vessels are mostly cardboard cut-outs. It’s a fairly good effect, but the only thing that detracts from it are the flat shadows cast on them by the Rebel techs.
Look what you’ve done! I’m backwards!
Another case of reversed footage. The whole scene where Leia debarks from the speeder and meets Commander Willard, then Artoo is lowered off the speeder, is backwards. The speeder driver is left-handed. (Watch those speeders in later scenes, the controls switch around) Han’s blaster is on his wrong leg. Chewbacca’s wearing his bandoleer backwards, Artoo’s facial details are all wrong, and Willard’s rank-badge is on his left side. The inset is what Artoo should look like.
Vanden Willard
A veteran Alliance officer, Vanden Willard was formerly the commander of the Suolriep sector headquarters. Here, he is the theater commander for the Yavin operation. He is an old friend of the Organa family, having aided Leia and her father Bail through many a crisis.
